Zen master in Bodhi Zendo, India (Jnana Bodhi Ken)


Cyril Mathew SJ is an Indian Jesuit priest. He got interested in Zen, became a disciple of Zen master AMA Samy in the year 2000. He received his Zen training under AMA Samy at Bodhi Zendo, serving there for many years.

He got transmission by Fr. AMA Samy on February 4, 2018 at Bodhi Zendo and has been appointed as Zen master with the title "Jnana Bodhi Ken".

On August 30, 2019 at the European Bodhi Sangha Meeting in Germany he was appointed Independent Zen Master by Gert Lüderitz in the presence of Fr. AMA Samy. As successor to Fr. AMA Samy, he heads the Bodhi Zendo in South India.
